What is Mission: Portland, TN?

Mission: Portland, Tennessee is a plan to evangelize all of Portland this year.  We have an obligation to our community to tell them the truth about the gospel of Jesus Christ. Our city is a mission field that we all need to spend time in helping know the truth.
 
There are so many in our community who don’t know the truth about becoming a Christian. Start thinking like a missionary – what would you do if you had as many Christians as we do in our area to help evangelize a mission field? How would you mobilize them? What would you say?
 
The plan is simple. 
 
What we are asking for is for each individual Christian in each individual congregation to reach out successfully to one of their friends or family members who does not attend and get them to attend your congregation. If the one you decide to work with does not respond, be polite but find another before March 15, 2010.  Also, if you have any extra monies left over after your budget is set, to please put that money into local missions this year.

Go therefore and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit,
